Dan Hare

My wife Jackie and I live on a small horse ranch near Temecula Wine Country in California, adjacent to The Cahuillla Band of Indians reservation. I'm very close to my loving daughters and their families, and they keep me very busy. We currently have three trail horses and I must add that our mustang mare, "Hotrod"  is one of the loves of my life. Our many chickens, dogs and cats are all beyond spoiled, and that's just fine with me. Our ranch is surrounded by 4 picturesque mountains, which I am privileged to enjoy everyday.

As a boy growing up in Montreal Canada, I apparently showed early signs of artistic talent. This caused my parents to gather up all seven of my brothers and sisters and relocate to Southern California, to seek out educational opportunities to cultivate my talent.  During my  school-age years, I received many awards for my art, which continued throughout my  college years, while working on a fine arts degree.

My desire to expand into new territories led me to join Journeay Studios in Lake Forest, California. My exposure there to the intense study of color, spawned many new ideas and techniques. 

 With my love of the west and the western way of life, today I continue to be drawn to create paintings of Western Landscapes and Western Themes which include cattle, horses and rodeo. 

I am thrilled to present my first series of paintings for the enjoyment of those of us who also love the American west.
